DFA was active in AW (thanks for the mention Sundownr) and we just noted our 9 year anniversary this month.
It has been a while since AW (and quite a few tumblers of scotch) but I do remember:
Sealed Fate - WolfX was CO I think and they were a heck of a bomber squad,
DE’OL’ONZ of Air Warrior - had some fellas that flew the hell outta that 190A8,
=Minutemen= who were lead by =EZR= who was one heck of a nice guy,
=416 Lynx= Tactical Fighter who had Manx as the CO - they kicked our butts on occasion ;) ,
and of course the BoPs!
I'll never forget Doody - I believe he started Most Wanted and also Mr. Personality... Ruaml!
Damn those were fun times.

I used to get a kick out of "The Knights Who Say NI!" in WB.

Get a bunch of them loggging in at about the same time and the buffer would be an endless string of "NI! NI!" for 5 minutes.

The old 352nd and 475th (Now 432nd/475th in here) from WB were scary for a looftwaffle like myself too.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

This is going back a decade or so, but the Dweebs of Death from Warbirds is one squad that is unforgettable.  With a motto of "Death before dishonor, often just moment before" and their signature beanies, they rued the skies over the lands of the purple, green, red and gold.

No, that wasn't a typo.

And their web site is still up.

Played golf with some of the "Knights Who Say Ni"and "the Night Stalkers" in Dayton last year at the WB Con, great bunch of guys.
The old 303 Polish from WB was another great squad, disbanded now but I was still getting greetings from ex-members when I upped. Didn't matter if they were JG 51, 416 RCAF or any of the other squads they ended up joining. What about the 31st FG and the 352nd.
I've flown with Eagle Sqdn WW2OL and IL2,  and Dead Sticks in DOA, the 417 RCAF in the S3s in WB since '98.

Doesn't  matter where you go you'll find the same people, no matter what squad they belong to, with the same passion to work as a team.

Greetings,

Once a long time ago, I was in a squad called SOPS in AWII both beta and pay (gamestorm) - my cpid at the time was pnzr.  The squad had a pilot called Oman who liked the C47.  Can't remember the rest of the clan- okay, it was like 98ish!  When I came back from Korea there were a few still flying, but with the death of AW, they seem to go poof and were gone.

Regards,

No, it's always been the 479th Riddle's Raiders since it was created.  However, I can see why some maybe confused as REEMO at one time was our CO and some did incorrectly assume that we were called REEMO's Raiders when in reality, the 479th stuck to the correct historical name of our real life counter parts.

Wow, jogging some old memories in this thread! Doody and PK1 started up Most Wanted and we still play here in AH. Doody has played some since AW died but mainly under a few shades names in here.
So many memorable squads from from back then it's hard to do them all justice.

One of my favorite people to fly with from back then (besides you PK ;) ) was Airhead when I was in Airwolves with him.

The smack talk game was about more than ho, tard, noob, picker.....ect. back then.
