Level Bombing has changed.
« on: July 10, 2007, 10:50:47 PM »
In the Blue and Orange arenas I routinely kill FHs and VHs from 20K alt consistantly using B24s.  Daylight precision bombing.

However, for the last week bombs miss to the left flying southbound and short when flying westbound.

Did someone introduce a crosswind without advertizing it ?
Has the calibration technique departed from the displayed text in bombsight calibration mode ?

I clicked on "Wind" in the clipboard map menu but nothing shows.

This is really discouraging after flying 45 minutes to gain altitude over a target then not hit the intended objects.  Can quickly deminish my interest in the game.

Puzzled.......

Are you shure that your alt and speed are the same in calibration and e6b. If your alt is off or speed that will make a big difference in drop. You can always make the adjustment if you hit right going north  drop a little left.
The war is coming to the streets of America and if you are not keeping and bearing and practicing with your arms then you will be helpless and you will be the victim of evil.

I Calibrate after line-up 3 times inbound, 10 seconds each, before drop.
Also calibrate after drop to double check that speed did not change.
I Always approach, calibrate and drop at full throttle.  Is one less variable to worry about.  Also go "auto pilot-level" well in advance of calibration so altitude variation is a non-factor.

Prior to this problem, I always hit my intended target from 20k or higher.

Something has changed.
Is it possible that the calibration text (yellow instructions) which yield "Easy-Cal" info are now obsolete and the old "cross-hairs on a fixed object" are now required again ??
