A. The problem with the old TT was not spawn campers behind you, that's fair if you let them roll up your flank. The problem was the spawns were too close together and too close to the Town. Once one side got enough people out and ranged your spawn from their spawn or the Town, you were toast 7 times out of 10. And sometimes you spawn with your back nearly facing the enemy spawn.
The simple solution was to move opposing spawns further from each other and the Town to require at least 1.0K of movement before coming into reasonable long range of the enemy spawn and visa versa.
In the new TT the addition of two more spawns was a good idea.
While I like the new terrain features and the Town very much, the problem is they put it everywhere around TT. There should be more, larger open spaces and variance. At this point, there can be a GV hiding behind trees or hedges every 200 yards, which can be fun for awhile, but in the long run causes people not to move or maneuver as much. It has become more of a mousetrap game than a fluid tank battle area.
Finally, as always, the attack pukes are even more prevelant in seeking milkrun GV kills, which in turn has caused more people not to GV in TT, myself included. Until TT is at least somewhat game restricted for attack fighters and bombers, with the less open terrain, TT is probably going to be less populated, which will make the toolshedders very happy.
It's not that the changes to TT are not essentially good or appriciated, just that they went a little too far with the closed terrain.
