Forget "Mickey" -- name is "Shrek!"
It does no good to have friendly-friendly afields 25 mi apart, but friendly-enemy afields 50mi apart, because the fields change hands. IMO you have to keep it consistent. 2 sectors is a bit far in this game. Hell the average MA pilot would run out of gas with that kind of range!
Plus, if you spread them so thin, there are much less fields. That leads to a greater chance of one side being pushed into the spawn corner (just because there's less fields for them to fall back on). You want enough that any one side has enough fields to keep fighting from, but not so many that the others cannot capture them (and force a reset).
All in all I'm open to the layout you've suggested. Perhaps not the best, but new and innovative.
