Any comments, good or bad regarding the CH Fighterstick product.

Good: high quality, often referred to as the best precision equipment, and often lasts many years. If parts go bad can often replace just that part.

Bad: It costs more than if you bought a "normal" stick every year for 5 years. IMO has too few buttons (too many buttons-on-hats and not enough stand-alone) <- but this is just my opinion. Some parts can go bad, before the full stick.

It's up to you if you want to spend that much $$$. If CH made a setup like Saitek, but with CH quality, I'd love that. IMO Saitek doesn't have the quality/longevity, and CH doesn't have the functionality/ergonomics of the X52-type system. (this said just from observing the setups).

I have CH combat stick and pedals. They rock.

I have used CH sticks for about the past 10 years. Other than pots wearing out, and Windows 2000/XP breaking the keyboard port (not CH's fault), I haven't had any issues with them. They can be programmed a gazillion ways, work well with either the CH Control Manager or native AH2 stick mapping, and fit my hands well. The set I have now is about 1.5 years old and is showing no signs of wear. If and when it wears out, I'll buy another CH product to replace it.

The Fighter stick is brilliant. Ive had both a Combat stick (analog - years ago) and a fighter stick (usb, current). Both are great sticks. The Fighter has more "buttons" - most of those "buttons" come by way of 3 4-way hats (given 12 buttons) which takes some getting used to, but its a good way of giving you loads of buttons at extremely easy reach and non-cluttered layout.
As for ergonomics, they seem fine to me. Good size for me, and easy to use.
Quality: arguably the best you can buy. Mine takes a beating year after year and still feels brand new.

Fighter stick

Great overall stick. very smooth operation. more then enough buttons

Minus's

Handrest set a little too low (or buttons too high) for your average desktop user. Making the top hat difficult to reach comofortably.
minor problem and easily solved by placing a spacer of sorts on the handrest

Quick question, how is the tension in the stick? Firm like the Thrustmaster Hotas or weak like the Saitek X52. I like more of a firm feel, I had an X45 and it wasn't bad (would of prefered a bit more tension), went to the X52 but it feels like it is made for a limp wristed guy.

Its been a LONG time since i used anything other than CH sticks, but my last stick before a CH one was a saitek evo (one of the original ones) going back 8 years or so. IRRC, they are pretty similar in spring tension.

Tension on the CH Flightstick I have is perfect, in my opinion. Don't know how to compare it, though, as I don't know the others well.

CH USB PRO PEDALS

Been using them for years no problems/EVER!
