How many here are "long-timers".
« Reply #75 on: July 16, 2007, 01:08:47 PM »
Started in Air Warrior on AOL in 97 shortly after returning from 5 years in Germany. Joined =GHOSTS= in September of that year. Held on to almost the bitter end of AW before moving to AH with some of the squad in 2001. I and the =GHOSTS= who moved over joined the Nazgul while we got our bearings ( to those guys for accepting us even though they knew up front we'd eventually re-form). Went to Korea for a year ('03 - '04) and didn't get to play :cry but have been at it ever since I got back.

Flying with the 4thFG now. Some of those guys have been at it much longer than I have!

Regards,

I started in June and jumped ship over here in Nov '01, missing the last camp in AWIII.

I started with AW when it was free on AOL ('95, or '96). First squad was The Fighting 56th, Cyclops was the co. Stayed with AW until EA killed it.

Moved to AH with my then squad 444th Air Mafia, MDJOE was co at that time. My first tour in AH was 23 have had an active account here ever since even if I don't always find the time to fly.

I have had the same id throughout.
444th Air Mafia since Air Warrior

Fighter Ace when it came out of beta and went pay (must have been 1996), little Warbirds, then AH since open beta (minus about a year).

Stayed till +moss told me about AH beta at the 99 AW con....signed up in sept99 I think and have been here ever since with multiple "interuptions"...

I played WarBirds for a bit.  Did a couple of flights in AH during beta to see what it was like.  Signed up for AH in Tour 3, I think, and have been signed up ever since.

Don't play much anymore though.

My first flight sim was some POS for the Commodore VIC 20. It had gauges and sound, but no views out of the windows.

I then went through every version of MS Flight Sim up to 2000, plus Combat Flight Sim 1,2 and 3, and the Microprose classics F15 Strike Eagle and Apache Gunship 2. M1 Tank Platoon was also a favorite.

Strangely, I never thought of playing on-line. I didn't have internet at home until 2001 and the arrival of DSL. (I always had fast internet at Uni / work and dial up seemed too painful). It was one of the Military Channel ads that got me into AH2 about a year ago.

Found AW in '95 on AOL when I bought my first house after getting out of the Army.  Just finished 5 years in germany.  Found this AH web page when someone mentioned in AW a new flight sim was in the works.  Joined the BBS in Aug of '99 and eagerly awaited the open beta.
Have been here since and lovin it! :aok

HiTech, btw, my ex-wife hated you, and my present wife tolerates you, hehe  :D   Great game, great wife, man I got it made!!
