Tour 47 for me but played a little jane combat flight sim on and off for a few years.
When I die bury me in a P38.

I watch day after day, week after week, tour after tour, the Bishops and Rooks take bases and win maps while the Knights stand there with their thumbs stuck in their butts. It's just pathetic!

Been here since Tour 22 when Air Warrior imploded. Played AW3 on Kesmai through to its death with EA, so I guess late '96 through to 2001.

First PC based Flight Sim would have been Jet Fighter in all its wire frame glory in '86 or so.

Wow, look at the ole farts waken up!:D
First offline was Gunship back in like 85 various other flight sims etc..

Found AW in late 96 I think it was and was instantly hooked! Flew AW through the last day (cursed EA....)

Joined a few of my squaddies in Fighter Ace while most others went to wwiionline. in May 02 tried AH (tour 28). Most of my squaddies have since joined me in AH along with many new members. Been in AH ever since with a couple of breaks. But i've never cancelled my sub.

I started with Warbirds back when it was in beta and called "Confirmed Kill." That would mean I started in May, 1995.

I stuck with Warbirds until 2001 as my main flightsim, but I was onboard with AH since the early betas.

The funny thing is that I didn't even like airplanes and flightsims when I got started. I was just tired of "playing against the computer," and Warbirds was (I thought) the only show in town at that point.

Please post only once so we get a good count.  Include your starting date as closely as you remember it, the sim you started in, and your guess as to the percent of long-time players in AHII.

I started in '96 in Air Warrior and my guess at long-timers is half the player base.

I first flew in AW in the very early 90's. I've subscribed to pretty much every online sim that's come along since then at least for a little while, culminating in AH which I first started playing in 2001.

I honestly don't know how many long time players still play. That would depend on what one defines as long term I guess. If we're talking from the late 80's-early 90's when it all got rolling, then probably not too many. Maybe 5% perhaps. If we're going within the last decade I'd think the number would be pretty high, perhaps as high as 30%. For myself I kinda come and go....play a bit, go inactive a while, play a bit, etc.
