Warbird Mustang lost....

Poor guy, I hope his family was prepared for the eventuality.  The instructor probably is having a rough time as well.

I remember when Scat VII went down here in Indiana in 2003 and we lost James Shuttleworth.  I had met and talked to him on several occasions.  He was a great guy.  Scat VII was an actual warbird that had been restored to it's WWII colors.

I say fly them, but remember..

When we are out of Mustangs, we will be out of Fighters.

You missed it Golfer.  It went right over the top.  He was tongue in cheek with that one, quoting a well known statement.

That's ok though.  Fencer is harmless :)

I vote for flying them. It's what the planes were built to do, and my heart aches when I see a plane on static display.

AGREED. THESE BEAUTIES WERE BUILT TO FLY, AND WILL ONLY ROT IF THEY'RE NOT FLOWN!! THEY NEED TO BE IN THE AIR ALSO FOR OUR YOUNGER PEOPLE TO SEE:aok
