It's not "on tape"
« on: July 20, 2007, 05:20:02 AM »
My latest pet peeve...

It's "on tape".

Lot's of video captures in the news are actually recorded on hard drive at the initial source.

So quit sayin' "it's on tape".
Say "it's on video".

Or "The security camera got it on tape".
Say"They security camera videoed it".

The word "video" is now a noun AND a verb!

(Boy we better realize we got it made when trivial stuff like this is even on the radar scope, eh?):)

Agreed.  That expression really ticks me off.  I mean...it's not as if we are ACTUALLY sitting down viewing a radar scope!!!

Well, how about "the vast majority" or even "intellectually honest"?

BTW, when Nintendo cartridges were popular in the 90s, I knew someone who referred to them as "Nintendo tapes".

Grrr.."Henry,...it's static and dynamic RAM!"
