How's this Biggles?

Nice picture there jack, looks REALLY good. Wes, on your first picture the planes were TOO CLOSE TOGETHER! Try to make it look more realistic, the F4U wouldn't be that close to a KI-84 and trying to turn the opposite direction. Try to get the planes off and away from the ground some, and space the two planes some to put some distance between them.

You take the image of the plane and copy and paste it onto the background image.

yeah, but you crop the "original" plane image so you just get the plane (by the way, im running into problems on that step)

No, you don't crop it...at least I don't. You use the photo editing program's eraser and erase around the plane. Then when the background is erased, all that should be left is the plane itself. Then you take the plane and paste it onto the background.

I put the background on, then I pasted the plane onto it. (I made a new layer) But, the pasted image masks the background. Now the image is the plane with a white background.

Thats why i use Microsoft Paint. Yo can use that square eraser carefully and try not to make the plane look like it had stair shaped edges. Then you use the Select or the Freeform Select. Before you copy and paste, make sure that the thing that appears under the tool bar is set to transparent . Then copy and paste it
