WE NEED IT BACK!
yesterday, in orange we basically had a small one going, but we and the old Fighter Town back!..................yes I am sorta trolling, BUT this is a serious wish!

and don't go posting that stupid search button thing! I know I should but I felt like neglecting it!

Anyway... I don't remember playing on the Fighter town map.. maybe i didn't know it's name or what?  but... it sounds interesting.

I think I heard somewhere that HTC told their map makers not to make any maps with a FT's, but TT's were ok.

yes HT has refused FT maps (TT is ok though i believe) but we do have a map that was a FT in it i forget the name of it but we do have a FT

That's the $25,000, I think; Why TT is fine now, but not FT.

Latrobe: You MAY be thinking of the center island on NDIsles. It's technically a Tank Town, but generally a large portion of the population uses the airbases on it as a Fighter Town as well.

HT made a comment at the last con that the FT concept breaks the spirits of new players. The way he sees it, they see the FT, fly in it a couple times, win maybe a few times, die many times, get bored of that and leave after their two weeks trial.

I guess he is more thinking of mmesa map, where A19, A40, A55 have a true FT setup.

The name of the map was donut.

HTC removed it (along with the other large maps) when they split the arenas.

I hadn't heard that before now.  Their opinion is the only one that matters.
Doesn't mean you and I can't have one as well, expressing it just won't make a difference.

My opinion is different for sure.  The fact that they allow (and practically encourage) abuse of players over in-game voice, in-game text and in bulletin board posts has seen the departure of quite a number players that I have known and a couple that I introduced to the game.  The arena split, as I have understood it, was about making the game friendlier.  Read through the bulletin board, monitor the open channels, listen to in-game voice and form your own opinion if the strategy is on course.

I have never heard a single player express, even once, that they were leaving because they got shot down in fighter town.  Perhaps they are listening to players that I cannot hear.  That's possible because I have everything turned down so I don't have to listen to the bully boys.

On one of my first Buff sorties when I just started in AH2, I heaved a set of Lancs over the hills and in to FT.

Luckily, I hadn't worked out the bomb-site or field layouts, so I did next to no damage, but my God you want to have seen the abuse I took on text.
