F4U-IC Or F4U-ID

Ok y'all git ready to laugh....
I actually like the f4u-1...
yeah its older and such, but to me it just handles well.
But I also am enfatuated with the f4u1d as a fighter.

And to answer the above question about fuel burning, IMHO I climb out on my drop tank, then (in an f4u-1) burn my wings down to say 1/8 - 1/4  in each then flip over to my main that way I have a small reserve in the wings just in case.  In the F4U-1D I don't have a choice, climb on drop tanks then fight on main.

it varies, Saxman.

most times I am prob 8k or lower....unless winging with squady we might go to 10K or 12K.....

I just prefer the Birdcage........it is more mindset than anything, but I feel more comfortable flying the -1  than the -1A.......I have not really gave the -1A the  flying time to adjust to any differences ( fuel load out options? ) so there it is.

I like the load out options of the F4U-1 , I think they should have made the F4U-1A have the same loadout options in regards to fuel loads....they did not, and I don't fly it for that reason.....I am sure it is a great plane..but I am stubborn like that  :)
