Andrew Jackson, described as one of the first 'modern' presidents. Hmmm interesting as in the military leader quiz. I got Sherman who was described as the first modern general. At least I'm consistent.
Once again, I missed out on the Irish leader. This time it was Daniel O'Connell.

Of course, actually I would have realized the weakness of my country early in my first decade of rule, and worked hard to build up a highly trained Prussian style combined arms force that was small but well led, equipped and motivated. Romelia would have learned a hard lesson from it's aggressive ways, as I negotiated peace terms within artillery range of its capital city -- it's bloated and overly politicized and bureaucratic army in ruins after the lightning swift advances of the past two weeks.

LOL Charon, no way would Romelia let that happen. As they watched you militarise with growing alarm they would plot your downfall. They couldn't afford to have a state on their border with sympathies towards their enemy Avalonia. The last thing they need is a two front war. So, resurrecting a long forgotten territorial claim in a border province they would sponsor those terrorists while disclaiming any reponsibility. When your retaliate by bombing the terrorists thinking you had Romelia's permission. They would show pictures on TV of destroyed hospitals, churches, orphanages and schools and then invade to 'protect Romelia from further aggression'. Avalonia is sympathetic but too far away to provide much help.
As you sit in the presidental palace being bombarded by Romelian artillery. You will wish you'd chosen another career.
Soon your country would just be another province of Great Romelia and the population sent off to work in the salt mines of Arctic Romelia.
