If we're going to be forced into multiple MAs, is there some way we could take a map and split it across multiple arenas so that planes auto migrate from server to server as they cross some map boundary?
It would require the ability to split a map (say vertically) into east and west. The west division would have a one sector overlap with the east division map and the east division map would have a one sector overlap with the west division map. The overlap sectors are used to broadcast / share player data from one server to another so that there are no boundary crossing surprises.
There might need to be a little bit of map tweaking to keep radar zones from being split just to keep the complexity down.
The only other thing would be a protocol pkt for telling the client to switch to other server for data. This is like an ATC center hand off as you move from one air traffic control zone to another.
