warping & ho's

whelp.......for about the last week or so, i finally got my skinny but outta the EW, and started commin to LW arenas.......for the most part, it has been FUN...and a lot of learning, flying with and fighting against a lot of really cool people. untill tonight........was still flying with lots of good helpful, skilled pilots. the problem was the warpers. if not them, then the ho-tards. sheesh!!!! i'm above and behind a mossie, wanting to line him up, and watched him do a square(yes, i DO have film) i lined up a spit, and he warped too. someone commented about it from a ground position, so i asked if it was me or the spit....he said it was the spit. these were over V65(which after about 5 hours they STILL couldn't take from us). over A20, i get the vulchin, ho'in lala uumm....whelp...i hesitate to call em pilots, as when they mis the ho, even a low talent pilot suhc as myself can saddle up on em and eventually kill em(seeing as they have no ack to run to). little later in the night, upped off of the cv near 39 for the furball.......hwat do we find........warps all over the place, and ho'in nikis.

this does raise one question....i know it wasn't me as i asked a couple pilots, and none reported me warping.......but both LW arenas were full.....could this cause warping problems?

Last night I landed some Lancs after a hour+ flight and successful bombing runs. I stopped the planes, talked to my son for a minute, and then started taxi'ing to a hangar. All of a sudden I see a bunch of tracers all around me and I get riddled and killed after all that time flying thru enemy territory. I dont know who it was, the puter only told me I was kilt.

But whomever it was they were most definitely a "Ho". And where I live and work a "Ho" demands payment after giving you 5 mins in a tail gunners position.

Why don't you just "End Sortie" while on runway?  I don't see a lot of folks taxi into hangers.

About the HO's.   Get used to it.  Learn to avoid HO's.  It is common practice in the MA.  I assume that every LA7 and Niki pilot I see will try to HO me.  Better be ready.

Rich46yo, you don't have to taxi to the hangers, just end flight on the runway turns out to be the same thing. However, if for "realism" you want to taxi, that the chance you take.

As to the HOs and warps, HO are worst during the summer influx of "squeekers", and a major pain in the butt anytime. Warps are just the internet getting busy on Sunday nights. Most times my connection is pretty solid to HTC, but the warping gets so bad on Sunday nights I rarely fly, it just isn't worth it.

I taxi to get the feel of the airplane, and actually was going to the re'arm deck instead of a hangar.

I just finished a Looong run with JU's, hit a refinery, made it all the way back to landing run, 'bout 3 mins out at 1,000'. I got jumped by a bogie, "with my own team fighters taking off all around me btw:cry " and we had us a honorable shootout and both died. Now a warrior like that I can respect.

So from now on I'll just end sortie right when I stop. I thought hosing the runway was against the rules and it was kinda pimpy.

                    Thanks for the responses.

It's called, dodging the ltars and seeing how long you can get one fixated on just your aircraft.  The second they stop, dropping in on them again to get them fixated again.
Mighty fun, much more fun that nailing aircraft trying to take off.  Keeps them busy so your mates can keep the fighters down while us knights wait for 20 minutes for a goon. :cry

Not arena population causing the problem.

Like Fugitive sez, HO"s are much more common during summertime squeaker season.  If you see a cannon or .50 cal heavy bird, there is a very good chance you will see a HO.  Sometimes it can be avoided, depending on the plane and energy states each has..... but sometimes you leave yourself vulnerable to the other guy by trying to avoid it.  If a total furball, many will shoot at whatever passes in front of them...... that's a furball, so complaints about a HO in a furball leave me unmoved.

Warping is most often a connection problem between the client and the server.  Most often the "connection" problem resides on the client side machine as they are low of system resources or have any number of garbage running in the background, or multiple computers sharing a broadband connection.

Things like malware, spyware, keyloggers, BitTorrent, software firewalls, automatic downloads, or a new computer running resource hogging Vista, can all effect client side connections.   Running a minimal system over a dial-up connection with a noisey line can cause warps and discos.

If the other guy has very little in graphic memory and you saddle up and open up with a Jug's 8 x .50's with tracers on, the graphics can overwhelm the other guy's processors.... instant warp.

Few enough people know enough about their systems to keep them clean and running well.  With Vista use becoming more widespread among new users (and it being a resource nightmare), I expect problems in online gaming to only increase for gamers.
