RIP Tom Snyder
« on: July 30, 2007, 11:14:07 PM »

I remember staying up after Carson and watching him on Tomorrow. He was interesting, offbeat and well informed.
He died of lukemia at 71.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Back in my bartending days, Id usually catch the tail end of Letterman and see Snyder's show.  The guy was a great entertainer and quite classy.

Craig Ferguson closed last night's Late, Late Show with a tribute to Tom. It was very touching. I thought it was a class move by Letterman to hire Tom as original host for LLS.

But, in my opinion Tom did his best work on Tomorrow. It was the first show of it's kind and groundbreaking in more ways than one. There's some "Best Of" DVD sets out.

Dan Aykroyd did a great impression of Tom Snyder.  I enjoyed Aykroyds version better than the original, even though Tom was pretty cool.
