Took my little girl Audrey to Lavon this morning. Have been traveling a lot like always so considering a posible nice day and biting fish it was easy to skip work today. We fished from about 8:30AM to 2:00PM. She caught 20 crappie with all but two nice keeper sized plus a bunch of sand bass, several black bass, one drum and a decent catfish. We didn't keep any today and all were released. Earlier I kept one of the first fish so we could get a pic of her holding two but let them go afterwards. We managed to stay on fish of some type the entire outing. We could have no doubt boated more crappie but she was wanting to fetch and hook the minnows as well. But that was time well spent learning. I should have never let a buddie who guides for crappie instruct her in crappie fishing because she skunked me big time.
