Problem with Auto-take-off!!
« on: July 31, 2007, 08:41:25 PM »
:furious :furious :furious :furious

Ok sorry...Anyway, just got back into AH, and I had a really old installation package that I've had for quite some time...I install the game, and try to play multiplayer, turns out that my version is WAAAAAY outta-date. The patch was going to take an hour or something...

Anyway, I decide to just play some offline to get the hang of the game, and let it patch overnight. I strap into my Focke Wulf, and the auto-take-off doesn't work! I mean, it's enabled in the Preferences menu, AND when I get onto the runway, the words "Auto-take-off Enabled" are in the middle of my screen, and the engine starts up by itself and everything, but then after a second or two, the words disappear, and I have to try and take off myself! I never touched anything to cause the auto-take-off to disable itself, I just click on the runway I want and take my hands off the mouse and keyboard, (yes, I don't have a joystick...sadly.....) So I spent several hours trying to get off the ground the old-fashioned way.......no luck. Life just doesn't seem to like me in the manual take-off aspects. :cry

So I get bored of that and hoped that if I let the update complete, maybe the new version has that bug fixed.....and then I realize, it'll take a LOT less time to just go to the website and download the latest version, heheh....So I do....I install it and everything, everything goes as usual, and I join an 8 player game. But.....:furious :furious :furious      The auto take-off STILL doesn't work! The same as it was before. I touch ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, the words appear on the screen for a few seconds, then disappear, and auto take-off no longer works.

Has anyone had a problem with this? PLEEEEEEEZ help! :cry *sniff*

Using a mouse, it is best to switch from mouse controlling your plane on auto take off. In other words, program a button (I have the right click) to switch from mouse to plane control. Then, when on take off, just put the mouse into not controlling the plane until your off the ground.

I knew someone would say that...I have it as the default key, the H key set for that. I have it set on mouse control until I'm off the ground. I've played this game before, and the auto take-off worked fantastically. It must be something else.

Haha. I think I'll borrow my neighbors joystick, that he never uses.
