Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

I watched this a load in the other thread with this in yesterday, soo lucky.

But he doesn't land on the complet flat he does land on some of the very bottom of the transition, a few more feet forward and he probably would of died.

His feet hit first, his shoes are grippy and seemed to kinda propel him slightly forward before they were flung off (probably not done up like most skaters) on landing combined with the slight bit of transition and smooth nature of a ramp meant he...

ar damn he was just hell lucky, if any one of a number of things that went in his favour had been slightly different, like landing head first, face down, a few feet further out etc etc he would of splatted.

Free-fall survival records are anyway, - way well at terminal velocity.
(I once tried 7 metres. BAM, was shaken, but not stirred :D)
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

there was a follow up story on the boarder who tried to fly, he went to the hospital and has a bruised lung and other bruised internal organs, fractured vertebrae and other broken bones i think.
