thats because strat targets are denser.  Buildings are closer together so its easier to kill more than 1 or 2 buildings with 1 bomb.   I did it once to see just what it took.   First you have to find an enemy strat target that is near your base but yet far enough away from an ememy base so no one will be watching. (closer means less flying time)  Then pick a bomber, I used the JU88, single, no drones (you can use drones but landing and rearming are out of the question).
Fly to the target, bomb, carefully selecting targets droping one bomb at a time and hit as many targets as possible with one bomb.  Return, rearm, and launch again.  Keep doing this until you get bored (2 trips for me).   If someone catches you bail before they shoot you down.   If they call you on milk running deny you where ever in the arena..  Avoid contact with anybody at any cost... and have fun

Ju88 internal bombs cannot kill a strat building 1 at a time. You need to drop 2 at a time. The blast waves have to overlap to destroy 1 building. If you drop 1, then another, you still won't kill it, but 2 together will. I did some testing on this once when I was bored.

Anyways, the point wasn't just comparing town building vs strat building (although that does factor in). The point was, is a single town building, that takes 200lbs to kill, worth the same POINTS as a single hangar, which takes 2600lbs to kill? I doubt it.

What of hangars vs strat vs ord/ammo/porkables?

What will yield the most points per sortie?


I would still like to know for sure, because when I bomb a strat I don't get much points for it.

I didnt use the internal bomb load, just external stores...

For bombing besides surviving there's Damage % and hit %.  So 1 nuka stuka rules the roost here if going for score but nailing the City and I think fuel factory yields the most points.

I did read in which order the factory were worth years ago but the city is a key player if I remember correctly.  TOWNS pay more than any hangers or field strat.

Sinking Cv's reaps very good damage % but poor on hit% because bombs miss.  Scorers will nuka stuka Cv's.

Important to select the right ords for the job for damage %.  If ords to big the blast radius over lap equalling over kill for a target.  To small and you need twice as many bombs.

Thread hijackers aside.....   Strats and towns......take your Lancs to 25K, 14 by 1000lbers.....hit a few strats with a good spread (make sure they are full up) and you can log hundreds of thousands of points in a single mission.

Some guys just like doing it.   Sometimes, if I am busy, I will set auto climb, come back and bomb, then fly home.   It's fun.

When the vehicle hangers were together on the VB's I used to fly Lancs out after chains of VB's.  I'd fly to 23K and drop 3 1000's at a time on each VB hitting 5 VB's (or 4 and 1 strat) on a run.  I could take out anywhere from 7 hangers on a bad run to 14 on a good run but 9-11 was typical.  On a typical run I'd score ~450,000 points.

Since the hangers were split up at the VB's I've been flying AR234's to strat tagets.  I drop 1 500K at a time. On a typical run I can fill the text buffer with destroyed buildings (20+) and score 180-250,000 (usually around 220,000) points.

So, I'd say hangers are worth more than strat buildings.  I haven't noticed much difference between strats although that's not to say a difference doesn't exist.

BTW, flying formations in each case.
