Okay...  if you read the BSOD (Blue screen of despair)  thread.  You'd know what I've been going through.

but NOW.  My computer pops up a little bubble on the bottom right of the screen.  Saying It's detected lots of spyware.  Then a spyware thing I've never even heard of asks me to buy it.  (I want it gone...)

Now... since i have tons of spyware, I try to run a spyware scan using spybot: search and destroy.  However, every time I run it... the stupid blue screen stop error pops up... saying it's WIN32K.SYS fault.  Now...  I googled this, and it said I could have dustbunnies in my compuer.  I'm going to take apart my computer today and see if my fan is working properly.  I also used some other search engines.   and it said I needed to download something.

HOWEVER.  Not all the blue screens I get are WIN32K.SYS

some are random numbers like this: 0x0000008E

or some times it's 'caused' by this : kmixer.sys        PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA

0x0000007E is another problem...

I'm going through my journal... where I write all this crap down... and here's another one.

USBPORT.SYS - ADRESS F9970E7B base at F9965000 datestamp 41107d62

and  seperately 6X000000BE

Again...  I suspect bad memory (by memory I would assume RAM)  Dustbunnies... or viruses/spyware.  However, for viruses/spyware, I can't fix that because my computer won't allow it.

Try booting in 'Safe Mode' and running spybot. I'd also run adaware. It can't hurt.

Don't  know what antivirus you're using, but I use AVG Free. If you're able to get to 'Safe Mode', then run you malware scanners, and antivirus software. That might help.

Kmixer.sys is supposed to be a microsloth program, but it's also been use by malware too. It looks like it's something to do with audio.

Either way, Try the 'safe mode' trick first. If that works, then you can try messing with memory. if you have more then one Dimm, then you can remove one at a time and see if the system still acts up.

Since malware can cause BSOD's and other weird system problems, you probably need to eliminate the malware first before you start tracking a possible hardware problem.

virus protect pro

Also... I cleaned off the back of my computer (lots of dust)  and now spybot works.  However.... I have updated it, and run 2 scans, but my computer still tells me it has detected some spyware.  I am now running an AVG virus scan...  And I'll run adaware also.

so... what's a dimm, and what would you consider... 'messing with memory'

try the link to remove the malware

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic98219.html

if u have more than 1 memory module (dimm) remove 1 and use ur pc as normal. if the problem still happens put it back in and remove the other's in turn. if u find that with a certain module removed the pc works normaly then u have a bad module.
