thats not actually how the damage model works. in most cases only one plane receives damage because it is set so that if the front end of you plane hits another plane you receive damage. if the rear of your plane gets hit you get no damage. they have to do it this way due to issues with internet lag.

Um...no. If your plane crosses a plane in your game at any time in any way, your computer damages you and calls out that you collided. If the enemy aircraft's game saw a collision, he receives damage.

It's easiest to understand if you think of each computer playing Aces High as a stand alone "boxed" game with no actual interaction. No two computers will have the exact same view on where everyone else is located at the same time, hence lag might cause an offset and give only one player a collision.

In other words, me and my buddy both playing AH together. When flying in formation, I read his range as 200. He reads my range as 400. Why the difference? Cause on my computer I moved closer towards him, but his computer is still "catching" up with my maneuver.
When I collide with him, on my computer I collided and so I get damage, but on his computer I was still 200 yards away. So on his computer there was no collision and hence no damage.
If we all had super fast internet connections (likes of which haven't been seen yet) then there would be no "catching up" and both sides would take a collision damage.

Clear?:lol

No.

Edit-err no to kamikazes.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Same basic angle external, tangle's view from my front end moment of impact.

How would you feel taking damage looking at your film and seeing tangles front end view, hmmmmmm?

I know I'd be pretty POed.

Edit: This also works nicely for the "none should take damage" people.

I blame Karaya for all the dolts that can never understand the collision model, even when you hand them a picture book. :noid
