Vans, I agree with you on this and have been saying this for a long time.  BUT, some people in the game don't want to believe you with HE vs. AP.  I have noted shooting a tank in the 6-area with HE and nothing happens and I get told theres armor, blah blah blah... But, with the amount of HE hitting the back of a GV would hit something vital dealing with the engine.  That's just my .02 cents on it.
As far a shooting that 75mm and sniping GV's...  I was testing it out and was lofting rounds out at squadies in GV's.  I hit AKoLButt from 3.5 out and was sitting in the tower very quickly.  And that as from a straight on shot... so, yes HE will do some damage.
It has alot of posibilities and will be fun to figure them all out....

If you want a dedicated no-bs tank-killer, look for the Henschel Hs129. Late in the war there were a small number equipped with experimentally rigged recoilless AT-rifles firing down at a angle. Magnetically triggered with sensors on the underside of the a/c all the pilot had to do was to fly over a known tank position and the AT-rifles would trigger automatically. They were effective but far too few to make a impact.

Here's the cannon rigging, a 75mm PAK40, essentially the same gun used in the mid to late-war PzIV models. You can see the revolving drum magazine holding 12 rounds, adds up to 13 if you roll loaded.

Tiger can currently be killed by B-25's 75mm cannon the same way you kill a T34: Hit the top of the driver's compartment.
