Korean Era

I'm not sure if HTC has said anything about this but i think the Korean war Era would be fun.

I have heard that jets would be boring a lot.  But if it was all guns instead of missiles i think it still would be challenging.

We would need

-larger maps to accomodate the jets
-probly larger bases
-i would like to see the F86 Saber
-mig 15
-atleast 2 more jets
-a few bombers
-a few prop planes

any thoughts on this?

Waste of time.

Gun fights with jets offer extremely brief gunnery solutions.  In addition faster speeds increase the apparent effects of internet lag.

The planeset would be extremely limited compared to WWII as well.

You should at least know something about the environment you are requesting.  Saying "-the mig of that time period" tells me you don't care about the environment, you just want to fly the F-86.

My grandpa was in the Korean War, he wasn't a pilot though. It would be cool to fly an F-86 Saber, but i have to go with Karnak on this one.

Well, why dont you get the terrain editor and make a map of Korea, then fly Mustangs and Corsairs, and Yak9s as they served in the Korean War.
Shermans and T34s were also deployed in the conflict.
You could probably simulate the front line action of the Korean war.

AW not AH2 though... it's one of those things, it'd either work awesome, or work as good as early war... who knows, you could very well see many people jump all over it. Just looking at late war stats, you can see that many of the most popular rides are the fastest. Why not go even faster? :)

I wouldn't mind seeing a Korean War arena. In fact, iirc, it was mentioned as a posibility when the arena split came along.

and yes, the F-86 is freakin' awesome. Radar gunsight would help alot with the brief firing solutions... and if you're in the MiG, well, you have cannons, higher ceiling, better climb, better acceleration, etc.

If any arena could truly epitomize the evolution of gunfighters, this would be the one.

I keep my account open, but very, very rarely play. This would definately get me back in the chair for several hours a night for a few months.

Nothing beats flying jets with air brakes and korea wasn't all that empty btw. I flew 95% of my time in AW in korea and AVA in AH is a ghost
town in comparison...........
