i wish that once a person had dowloaded AH, a pop-up tell them to read the trainer page. or a URL that leads them to it. i love to help any new players, but i'm getting a bit tired saying the same thing over and over again. or a pop-up telling them to go into the training arena first.

I just answer the questions that aren't clearly covered by the manual, and ignore the rest.  If they can't be bothered to spend a few minutes reading the thing, then I can't be bothered to waste my own time making up for their apathy.

Yes, my favorite is "how do i turn on engnine."  Even an idiot is fully capable of hitting escape, clicking options, and clicking controls.  Nearly every game has that.  If he can figure out how to install the game, run it, join a server, and chat, then he surely can go look up the basic controls.

Of course, non-intuitive questions such as, "How do I talk to my team only?" I have no problem answering.  It's not in the manual, it's not obvious to someone who is unaccustomed to using radios, and it's not a stupid question.  I couldn't figure out the chat system myself; I've been playing games and simulators for a very long time, but I've never seen a chat system that worked remotely like this.

Kind of sad, really. Amazes me how many youngsters check out the game, perhaps subscribe to it, but don't have the inclination to really learn about WW2 aviation. They look for the "easy button", then get uptight when there really is none. Hmm.. they might actually have to aim the gun instead of letting the "heat seeking missle" (or what have ya') do all the work.

i think the new players know how to turn on engine, just not throttle. same for me when i first started to play. i didn't know how to throttle for like 2 hours. then i finally went to the options>control> etc etc.

There have been many suggestions for a "Boot Camp" type of training thing that took place during that two week trial period.  

Something that required the player to perform each of the actions and could not progress to the next until the present one was mastered.  

But that might turn away new players and HT will do nothing that will turn away new players.  Besides they allways fall back on the TA as HT's answer to training.

The only problem is new players in the two week trial periord are not required to enter the TA.

What is needed is a DOT command.  Say

.RTFM

If they garner say 5 in an hour, BOOM they get the boot and only the TA is a selectable arena.  All arenas unlock when they get a trainer to  give them an ok
