Fighters Vs Ground Vehicle Bug
« on: September 02, 2007, 09:31:10 AM »
For the last several patches I've noticed that if in a fighter and I land a few rounds on a GV and do NO significant damage that I get a kill on the GV when one of the friendly GV's whacks it.  I had been seeing a lot of assist when I was in a GV and killing a fully functional enemy GV and wondering why and now I know.  I was in a fw190-A5 and just fired a few burst to draw a GV's attention away from an M-3 and didn't do anything significant to damage it as it was moving and firing  and a friendly tank whacked it and I got the kill, this was repeated several times with other GV's and got the kill and the tanker got the assist.  Something isn't quite right here.

All the Best...

PS.. Couldn't film it because the film support was down at the time.

This problem is well known. Let me quote from an old thread:

Ahh, I know why this happens.  It's the tracks.  They are a damageable component and can soak up a large quantity of damage from light cannon and MG which unbalances the kill awarding.  I'll have to see if there's a way that HT can alter the awarding of GV kills to take that into account.

And I hope there will be a solution for it... pretty please HTC ;)
