Classy or outta ammo?

It would never happen to me.  I'm usually still trying to get a guns solution in my deadstick plane until the inevitable impact with the ground although sometimes I'm turning tight enough to get slow and level at the last second and ditch.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I think you have it backwards. As I believe Chuck Yeager once said, "I'd rather shoot the sob down and even shoot his chute so I don't have to face him again and take a chance on him killing me". That says alot about RL v VR.

In this game you either give the guy a pass or he ends up in the tower. So why not give the shot up guy a pass? You already won, right? There are alot more targets out there to shoot down.

That's actually something the noobs have to learn. One or two guys on a singleton can get the job done. It doesn't require 12 on 1. Your kills will come without trying to steal one from someone else. I normally step in either after asking if all is well or not, the guy is gonna get away or he's out to hit our base. Then I get in. Period.

Waggle dem wings, dude!

The only thing I disagree with is Boners fighting down. Real sticks fight up. :)

One night in the MW last week I was fightin a Hurricane IIC in my P40E and he tried to HO me three times but I nailed his engine and he tried to land it. I strafed him and blew him up.

If he hadn't been 1. flying a HOicane and 2. trying to HO me repeatedly, I would have let him go.  As it was, I got a great deal of satisfaction from popping the dweeb on the ground.  I don't remember who it was but it wasn't someone I'd remember, obviously.

Fight me clean and I'll fight you clean.

I like doing that.  :)

Actually, what is so cool about it?   Honestly, this is a damn game..it's not like he spared your life for real.   Is it really that big a deal?   He didn't log the kill....or maybe he did, when you finally towered...

Oh well, as Douglas Bader said, "It's not a bloody game of cricket."   He meant, kill or be killed.

I think whether its a game or whatever (and yes, some people have a hard time distinguishing the game from RL), the saddest commentary is that it's actually worth going out of one's way to note another player NOT acting like a retard.

I have had few rare great fights, but when they happen it is right to let the other guy go if they are dead stick and ditching.  You both know whoom has won, and is score really that important?  I remember this thime when I was in my 109K-4 and I was at alt, somewhere around 20K+ and I get into a GREAT co-alt co-E fight with a 190D-9.  We reversed several times and gave it our all, finally we ended up in a crazy verticle scissor each not wanting to loose and each milking the last ounce of climb out of our rides.  As fate would have it I managed to get off a snap shot and took half his wing off.  As I recall he RTB with half his wing, I did not pursue because if he wanted to land or ditch after such a herculean effort, then I would let him.  We exchanged salutes on channel 200 and commented on the good fight.  I wish I could remember whoom it was.

As far as me being left to ditch there are a few that have let me ditch or RTB after a good fight.  While exact names elude me at the moment, the ones whoom fight with great skill and honor are some of the best this game has to offer, the ones that when ya fight, your palms sweat and your heart races like it did when you were getting your first kill.

to those, my friends and cohorts of the AHII skies.  I look forward to our next encounter.

I won't nail a guy in the chute, but I will hammer the plane till it blows up, lights up, or starts falling to the ground.  I have asked no quarter, and will give no quarter.  This is war gentleman.

I was once escorting an enemy C-47 who was rtb'ing over the sea. It was fun to fly slowly in formation with him, but then after a while he maybe panicked and tried to crash into me... did on his FE, but not on mine :)

Cannot remember if I got a proxy kill or not and if I did, who it was. It was just one of those occasions very different for the common flights.

I had the opposite today, was helping knits cap a V field and there was a lone F4 goober orbiting and taking swipes, he would come down from his pearch go for the HO and then dive into ack.. circle around in the ack for a while and climb out.. rinse and repeat..  I was trying to buy time for troops so i kept messing with him and after one of his "attacks" i ran out of fuel and began coasting down to ditch..   he missed me TWICE.. while i was gliding down with full flaps.. only to get me JUST as I was typing ".ef"

If i was the only game in town that would be one thing, but this guy flew right past a full buffet of easy targets,, B25s were... everywhere.. of course, a goon, an IL2.. but noo.. shot right past all of em to plug a ditched G2..
