Anyone got a good 50cal sound?
« on: August 07, 2007, 10:49:54 PM »
I've downloaded USRangers sound pack and mixed it with some of the things I like better about Mitsi's pack and the one's Fruda came out with, but in all of those I can't find one for the 50cal (m2_2, m2_3, m2_4) that I like. The jeep, M3, LVT's and other such american vehicles had them. It's just my personal preference, but I would like to have a deep, loud, powerful, rapid firing sound for the 50. So if anyone can come up with one I would like to have it. Thanks.

Here's my own. I edited it from something else. I think I went around the web or something. It's been so long. It works so well (for me) I stopped looking and have been happy ever since.

May not sound like much, but when you got 6x or 8x of it firing all at the same time, it's sweet. [EDIT: You have to name it M2, M2_2, M2_3, etc, based on however many files there are default. Have to copy it to each file.]

P.S. I also use it for some 13mm guns

Taken from an actual Ma Deuce firing. Sounds real impressive if you have it copied into the folder for each .50cal on the plane

(IE, planes with the 6-pack as M2, M2_2, M2_3, M2_4, M2_5 and M2_6. This is how the original sounds were set up)
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Where the hell did you get this? It's great!

It's be fantastic with my .303 and .30 sounds, which like this .50 sound, are real as well. Not to mention my German, Japanese, and Italian gun sounds... :p

Should be Save As..., Save Target As... or Save Link As... (Depends if you're in Firefox or IE, too). Then just save as you would any file (it should be a WAV file).

The problem with that sound is it is a large burst. You need a sound that's 1 bullet's worth of gunfire.

It's going to be used for every gun, and it's going to be repeated millions of times in a good solid burst from a P-47.

Might sound good as a .WAV file, but IMO those "burst" sounds aren't as good when put into AH.

That's why I said it was golden --- I have the means to make the sound into one bullet burst. It works like magic on the American fighters, and it's even more special with the appropriate engine, flap, and gear sounds.
