In a land far, far, far away there used to be a guy with the call sign "Doc Gonzo". His idea of gameplay was to foster the "HATE". Except his "HATE" was joshing on folks to see if he could get em all riled up. When they got riled up they got shot down cause they couldn't think straight.  He had a lot of fun with it and even had a website dedicated to it. It may even still be out there. Do a google on it.  It was pure BS and he meant no personal attacks on anyone.

The point is he didn't talk politics he talked yer steeeenkin gameplay. He did tried to get you goin at every occasion.

Want me to be honest about politics? Once, a long time ago in another squad... Damn, do I like saying that or sumtim? Our squad started talking politics and who shud be in what office, etc. It almost broke up the squad. We ended up making a separate board for that crap. Most folks stayed away and life got back to normal. Now I'm talking about guys that have been friends for 10 years +.

Ok, there's no place for that in a game. No matter what side yer on folks leave that stuff behind and come and enjoy a few hours of dying by my guns, unencombered by RL. Did I say my guns? :O Sorry, I meant to say get up and fly. :)  People also get angry. Most of the time it's at themselves but they instead take it out on some poor dude in the game. Either by whining or cussing. The old timers hear it and ignore it but there's not much place for it in the air as it sets a bad example for kiddies that come to play.

If you just think about what yer gonna say then say to yerself, "what does this have to do with my gameplay here and now?" the odds are you're not gonna type or say something stoopid. Your gonna get over it and be all the better for it and everyone will have a better night. However, if you say something stoopid your audience in this game is more than willing to pounce on it and spend the next hour giving you BS. The next time you plan to cuss go ahead just don't key the mic. You got it off yer chest and can now continue to have fun. I also already said, no one here cares about your or my opinion about some dude in Alanta. They have their own opinion and your not doing anything to change it other than to troll.

As far as my hearing crap on chl? Trainers do the bidding of HTC in the arenas they are assigned to. We do not act as a mod in other arenas. If we get those marching orders then plan on not hearing it when one is around as you won't hear it in the TA. On private Squad I could care less what one squadie says to another. They establish their own rules of etiquette and no one else can hear em.

As far as yer cussing me? Big deal. It doesn't bother me. You got mad and answered the way you know how. You might spend that second and think about what you say cause it only reflects on you.

If you show up in the TA for help. I'll help you. That's why I'm there. Get outa line and I'm there to. But to do nothing more than ask you get back into the game with the rest of the folks.

Hmmm... I don't get any of this.

How did a discussion of Michael Vick turn into a religous/political debate?  Whats wrong with discussing Michael Vick or anything else over country or ch200?

Hubs and I chatted briefly about Micheal Vick the other night on 200 which turned from a conversation about Michael Vick to one about dog fights to one about cat fights to one about purse fights to one about wet t-shirt cat fights and petting.  Seems like normal harmless 200 banter to me (although it could as easily been over country channel).  That's all just part of the social aspect of the game.

Sure people get steamed and maybe go over the top occasionally.  The recipe (big ego's, high adrenaline) is ripe for it.  If you feel that happening just take a short break, cool off and come back.

And then of course there are those antagonists who are trying to push you over the edge just to see if they can.  It's your choice and yours alone to play along or ignore them.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

i hate to say this, but there is absolutley NO excuse, and therefore NO defense for what he was doing. fighting animals like that is just plain wrong.......he's probably not gonna get near the punishment he deserves......

It is interesting that people who condemn Michael Vick for killing dogs are the also the ones that favor abortions.

Not saying these reflect or do not reflect my views, I just find this an interesting predicament.

Country Channel is not your personel venue to spew views on world afairs. Its poor form to tie up the channel with stuff it is obviously not intended for. You disrespect everyone on your country by doing this.

Great post Ren.  I had forgotten about all that mess on the Damned boards.  A lot of emotion there was, it cast a pall over the whole squad for a good while.

I'd hate for the same to happen here.
