We were providing target practice for the B-25s last night (or was it the other way around?) at A3 for a while. I think it lasted perhaps an hour or so, maybe a little longer, before a nearby base was taken and a lot more friendlies and a more varied enemy group showed up.
But during the "Happy Time" where it was basically a duel between myself, LTARaptr and LTARdrgn and the very determined B-25 drivers, I managed to knock down 30 H's and 2 C's from an Ostwind for 5 deaths or less (not sure how many I had before last night, 5 deaths showing now).
LTARaptr stayed longer than I did, so I don't know how many of his 42 kills of the H and 7 of the C were after I left or perhaps in a different platform.
Poor LTARdrgn was in a Sherman almost the entire time keeping the ords knocked down on the base and providing protection for Raptr and me from the GVs trying to come up the hill to get us. Still, he managed to knock down 9 H's and 1 C along the way (I don't doubt from his main gun a few times).
LTARhntr showed up just as the "Happy Time" was ending and a more varied opponent set was coming and other friendlies arriving. He still got 5 of the H model.
Despite the carnage, I must say the B-25 is a very tough bird. On a number of occasions one would pass over and keep going after both Raptr and I landed 2-4 hits each. Hit location means a lot on this very strudy airframe.
I wish I could remember all those who kept coming at us, but my memory fails me -- the only name I can remember at the moment is HotHand. I hope all of you had as much fun trying to take us out as we did trying to survive!
