Cpt Don Singer a good friend of mine was a decorated field commision officer in the Pacific

Drove tanks

Received a Silver Star for Standing ontop of the pop-off valve on tank of naplam so they could reach soem japs on the top of a ridge line that had the company pinned down....

Had hsi drive "martinez" hell  of a big mexican and a great driver manueaver around mines on the road between 2 gorges with japs and machine guns lining both sides..said he was about 10 feet short of getn the tanks flame thrower up to the ridge.,.He said ..Hell with thsi MArtinez..He stood on top of the pop-off valve turned the pressure 15lbs past teh limit...and let loose...

it worked.


Im have been trying to find soem paintings..hell of any pacific tankers (marines)...

anyoen have a link ?

Olive Drab!  All afv from the US came out of the factory painted the same just like all German afv came out painted that straw yellow color. The camo was applied in the field and done to the discretion of the tank crew. If you see a camo pattern on US tanks it was field applied by the crew as per the german tanks

Try watching Flags of out fathers, I am pretty sure they have some tanks. Not sure if they will be accurate but it seemed like it.


They seemed to be green with tanish splotches to make for camo.



Couldnt find anything real but these were interesting.
