What if <shudder> Pyro has the Hispanos EXACTLY right???
Not a popular thought among those of us who have NEVER flown an aircraft in combat, NEVER fired either machine guns or cannons in ground or air combat, in fact have NEVER "flown" anything but flight sims.
Boils down to "do you trust these guys to do the very best they can with the data and skills they have?".
There are three possibilities, right? The Hispano ballistics and/or leathality is UNDERMODELED, they "right on" or they are OVERMODELED. These could all be a matter of degree, too...a lot or a little.
What some apparently want is basically arbitrary "playbalance". Without a shred of evidence, data or experience, they want the Hispanos modified to what they happen to think is "correct" or "better" or "more accurate". In short, they want it "their way" with nothing to substantiate their bias.
While some of these guys are unquestionably great sim pilots and perhaps even computer programmers, I haven't seen any ACM sim they have offered that is better than this one.
Sorry, I'm sticking with the guys that have actually delivered the two best on-line WW2 ACM games to date.
...and I'm asking them to make it a REAL as they can, given the data and experience they have. Don't arbitrarily modify programming that you feel is right, please!
Sure, if there are questions, re-check the data and programming. But if you find nothing and it's as good as you can do it...LEAVE IT ALONE! If that's the way it was, that's the way it was...the good pilots will adjust and press on!
Right now, Pyro IS re-checking the data. Why don't we just let him do his work without all the sniping?
