One of the Naval bases in San Diego.

This picture is pretty old. that baseball field is very green now. Even with H-60s sometimes landing on it.

I remember this being pointed out long ago too.

The swastika was a symbol of good luck long before the Nazis adopted it.  Besides, the Nazis used an angled swastika to imply motion, where this on has right angles.

Inasmuch as you do.
And we dont.
That places you in a unique position to perhaps ask someone there the question we would all like to know.

Why?

Good point. The only people who live in this BEQ are CBs. But the BPO is my LPO. So I can ask him on tuesday when I work again.

Here's another Swastika in an odd setting

Actually that's a film prop but it accurately represents a Dublin based Laundry van during WW2. The Swastika laundry remained in business for many years. I remember seeing the swastika bedecked vans in the sixties or seventies. Apparently it was set up in 1913 long before any Nazi connection was considered. There was a tall chimney over the laundry and that too featured a huge white swastika. :lol

As an aside and continuing the barracks theme. The building in the background is part of the barracks where I served in the army reserve. That was an actual stores, where I received my first uniform. It also stored lots of old equipment. It was like a militaria treasure house. WW2 and WW1 equipment, webbing, helmets and bayonets. I wonder where they all went when they closed the barracks and converted into a college?
