I read that Miami, purchased the TV audio of a PAT's game so they could listen to Brady's calls, an hence get an “edge” on his cadence and check downs,  they went on to kick the Pat's Arse the next game.  Cheating? Ya probable or at least a “rules violation”

Like a flagrant foul in the NBA.

from what i read when that happened there is no rule against purchasing audio, but it's just on e of those things that is just not done, sort of a gentlemen's agreement. There are, however, rules against what the pats were doing.

The question of whether or not personal fouls are cheating or not (to include blowing up on the refs) is not germane to the question of whether or not signal taping is cheating. It's simply a question designed to lower the standard of what is or isn't cheating. Talk about dancing lol.

Bare in mind who sites on the NFL Competition committee

Other members of the committee include as of 2006
 Atlanta GM Rich McKay,
Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher,
Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis,
New York Giants co-owner John Mara,
Baltimore GM Ozzie Newsome,
Carolina president Mark Richardson.
Indianapolis president Bill Polian   if you don't think he's going to go after the PATS on this one. I'll bet you dollars to dounuts.

This is going to expose the rules the NFL has put in place to give the offense an unfair advantage.

Rules allow for the QB and coaches to communicate via wireless in the QB's helmet, but the defense cannot. The defense must use signals. Why would they do this? To give the offense an advantage. The rules are setup so the offense can see what the defense is doing and relay that to the QB.

How do you steal a signal that is being done in front of seventy thousand people? The defense has three people sending in signals, two are decoys, and they switch during the game so you can't pick up on who the decoys are. Why? Because they know they are being watched and filmed.

Every team has a person(s) filming the other teams defensive signals. The Pats got caught because Mangini knew who did it for them and set them up to be caught long before the game started.

For the past two years, a rule to let the defensive captain have a wireless in his helmet like the QB has been defeated because offensive coaches have the votes to defeat the rule, they want that unfair advantage. They want to be able to figure out the defensive signals and get them to their QB.

If the defense were allowed to communicate via wireless like the offense, there would be no need for signals, and the offense would lose their unfair advantage to 'cheat'

Bill Belichick is a smart man, and everything he does is calculated. Any bets that the rule to allow the defense to communicate via wireless gets passed next year?

Marvin Lewis may have an issue. The Pats may have been interfering with opposing teams communications as well.

Actually you're not quite correct.  The reason it was voted down is because there isn't a person on defense that is on the field for every snap.  When wired guy is out, you're back to hand signals.  They also raised the contact issue.  Having wires and crap in your helmet isn't always a good thing when you're ramming it into someone's gut.

Still not quite right.  This isn't the first time the Pats have been caught.  Mangini may have alerted them on Sunday, but what about the other games?  Specifically Green Bay where the same man was kicked off the sidelines?

The Pats have been under suspicion of this kind of crap for a long time.  Including a playoff game against my Titans where their kicking ball was warmed up to make a long field goal at the end.  Up until that point nobody had kicked over 30 yards.  What goes around comes around.  Enjoy the black eye Pats.

What source did you get that from? A CB is on the field at all times. Who said it was voted down for that? Or did you come up with that on your own?

Let me take a quote from Mike Shanahan from an old SI interview "we usually have the defensive signals figured out by halftime, sometimes by the end of the first quarter"

The NFL channel has the head of officiating on every week to review controversial calls on the field.  They talked about the Pats deal and in the interview he mentioned the vote.  He said that was the reason it was voted down.  While a CB may be on the field for every defensive play, it's not the same guy every down.  The vote was for one particular player, not the particular position.

Where in that link does it say he was caught videotaping coaches?

Chris Mortensen is reporting the rule will pass next spring at the march meetings, so the defense will be allowed to comunicate via wireless. It doesn't have to be the same guy. If Peyton Manning comes out of the game and the back up goes in, that QB gets the headset.
