Goodell determines Patriots broke rules
« on: September 11, 2007, 06:47:40 PM »
"NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has determined that the New England Patriots violated league rules Sunday when they videotaped defensive signals by the New York Jets' coaches, according to league sources."

Hmmmm.

Now thinking about it.
I seem to remember more then one game where it almost seemed as if the Pats knew what the opposing team was going to do even before they did it

Im hearing it might end up costing NE their next years 1st round draft pick

Goodell is quoted as saying, "Shocked!  I'm shocked that this has been going on here!"

Wait, why wouldn't a team want to break another team's signals?

That's kind of like telling the country you're going to war with that they are not allowed to decipher your secret codes.

"The rule is that no video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game," the league said in a statement from spokesman Greg Aiello. "Clubs have specifically been reminded in the past that the videotaping of an opponent's offensive or defensive signals on the sidelines is prohibited.

If that's a league rule, then it's a league rule and The Pat's should be punished to make an example of them and prevent other teams from even thinking about doing it. I think draft picks is too light of a penalty. How about we suspend the coaching staff for 4 games. The ENTIRE offensive staff. :aok

Or better yet, remove the entire organization from the NFL.

GO STILLERS!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I'm a Pats fan and i'm pretty pissed about this.  There is a lot of talk going on about the penalty the NEP's will face, and a lot of people think they should have to forefit their win against the Jets.  I think thats a little too harsh, and as serious as Goodell is, I don't think it will come down to that.

I think a fair penalty would be along the lines of losing all draft picks next season, and a possible coaches suspension.

And lets be honest.  The Pats aren't the only team doing this.

And lets be honest again.  Regardless whether signals were taped or not, the Pats kicked the crap out of the Jets.
