for that one i had to work with color balance and channels which are a bit more out of the mainstream but really not that far or that time consuming.

as for colors...good point.  there are standards and means by which to test, or at least to run baseline.  i should make that the next thing that i learn.  its an important one for certain.

how did that one look on your monitor?

It looked fine on the monitor at work and the one here at home. This is what I saw when I fixed it from the RAW image:

It looks more like what I remember seeing. It is a little darker than the one you did but the shadows on the palm trees look more like what I remember. I don't have a great memory so I could be mistaken.

All I did was change the white balance.  The camara takes cold pictures for some reason. I need to look at the settings some more on it. I only take RAW images because there is so much more you can do with them but they are big. 10.1 meg apiece. Nice thing is you have a lot more choices on how the picture turns out.

you might have it set for indoor tungsten or something like that....it's what i usually find as the cause when that happens to me.

would love to see what i could do with the raw file on that image.

would be a great test subject.

Of course she is! You don't think I would have chased her all the way down there if she wasn't?

Thanks, I know she appreciates that:)

I can send you the RAW image. Do you have software that can read it?

What, exactly, does that signify? I really don't know.
