Ladies / Gents
Myself and BlackJack attended the memorial ceremony here in Ottawa Canada.
A Lancaster buzzed the airfield escorted by one Huricane, P51 and a SpitXVI ! Holy crap what a feeling !
The sound of those engines gave us the "goosebumps" !
Then the escorts buzzed the strip one at a time !
All three fighters are owned by rich man named Mike Potter.
The kites landed and we were able to examined them very closely and we interviewed the pilots.
Fortunately many curious fans like us were WWII pilots.
Standing by them listening to their comments were awesome !
I had the chance to meet a spitfire pilot from my area. He flew at D-DAY, Malta and participated in many air battles....
It was an honour to shake hands with an individual who actual flew those pretty slick spitfires.
If I was to ask him to witness me fly in AH, do you think he would be frustrated/discusted seeing that we take this as a game ?
M'not sure I'm writing this right !
Would he be dispointed ? Would he react frustrated seeing that the game is nowhere close to what it was really like ?
Is there any of you outhere that were fighter pilots in WWII and still playing this game ?
If so, what is your comments about this game ?
I have spoken to some AH retired pilots from Vietnam years and they mentioned that it was the best ever fight sim....
Any pilots from WWII that can add comments ?
Phil
