That's not grammar, that's just a superfluous word :) and you misspelled grammarian.

IMO The ability to spell usually correlates to the intelligence of the person in question. Those who can't spell their mother language aren't usually the brightest bulbs on the ceiling, in my experience. English is probably the easiest language to spell anyway.

I'm not sure spelling is a reliable measure of intelligence.  It might, however, be a measure of how much or little regard someone has for their audience.  If the deficit is in education (it's someone who hasn't gotten the schooling yet, or dropped out before), that again is not a measure of intelligence, just a measure of...  well, education.

One puts an apostrophe anywhere letters are missing.  So if you abbreviate spelling to spellin (for flavor) it should be written as spellin'.  Hope that helps with your writin'.

Now to find an equivalent for "loose vs. lose"

Can you find one for "then" and "than"? It really bugs me to see people using "then" when they mean "than", and it seems to be happening more and more often. Never see "than" used instead of "then", though.

Just think with each extra ' that you type a little more energy is wasted.

Did that little ' really add anything to your understanding of the sentence or are we all intelligent enough to work out whats being said wether it is 'it's' or just its, did you notice a missing ' in what's? or did your brain melt at that point?

When we use its instead of it's when we mean 'it is' we save a whole ' and an i and over time the energy saving on the AH BBS alone could power a small town.

think about that next time you want to add a little  '

ta ;);)
