Video driver won't install
« on: September 19, 2007, 05:04:26 PM »
Hey!  It's me again, from a long time ago!  With the computer that constantly messes things up...

I come with yet another problem :D

About a month ago, I had installed a video driver hoping to get rid of a blue screen error I kept getting.  However, whenever I played a game, it would periodically un-install itself, but a simple restart of the computer would have it come back again.

I ended up uninstalling the driver, figuring it was just corrupt data, and tried a different one.  But now they won't even install!  I get to the point where it tells me to restart the computer, but I do, and then they don't install.  I've tried about... 2 different drivers, plus the old one... but no luck!!!

I can post system specs if needed, my graphics card is a Radeon  Atlantis 9200SE  (something like that)

Halp me oh fellow AH members, my computer needs you!!!  :(

Its starting to sound like its time to reformat your HD and re-install windows. From everything I have seen about your troubles, it looks like you have a real nasty virus corrupting your system files.

Yes, the only thing stopping me from doing this, is the fact that I can't find my windows CD...

Tell you what, I'll just back up all my files now, torch my computer, throw it in a hole, put rocks in that hole, then fill that hole up with dirt.  Then I'll dig a mote around the hole, let the dirt of the hole sink into the water, and drown what's inside the hole.  I will then torch the ground, and dig a big hole to put the ground in....

Seriously...  My dad, nor I, will EVER find that windows disk.  It's probably inside some stupid hole!  They're too expensive to just, go out and buy...  (in my dad's case.)  My computer already has trouble running a word document and an intardnet browser at the same time...  It takes five minutes just to load the START menu...

Yea, I'm 98.300000004% sure this is a virus, but I have no way in *SQUEEEEEAK* to fix it, not without my precious windows CD...  I haven't even backed up my files yet!

Now excuse me... I'm going to go dig a 30 foot hole...  For personal reasons.
