This depends MUCH on the quality of the gun. Something from a retail store will usually shoot in the 150-220 FPS range (no matter what it says on the box

), whereas a higher quality gun like a Tokyo Marui, a Classic Army, etc., will shoot 280-330 FPS stock. Normally upgraded automatics shoot in the 350-420 FPS range. BB weight matters too. A .12g bb isnt going to hurt as much as a .25g bb (momentum).
You guys want some real pr0n?
My Tokyo Marui AK47.

My stamped-style receiver still hasnt arrived

The place red linked to was Redwolf airsoft. They have pretty good prices and awesome selection. But, like most of the airsoft world, they are located in Hong Kong. Airsoft is huge in Hong Kong and Japan. In the U.S., Ive had good experiences with
AirsoftNorthWest and
Trinity Airsoft. Good prices, products, and service.

I do the air soft thing guys more real kinda but you hit each other with 6mm BB's they have paint too but there working out the bugs on the paint rounds they are busting in the chambers of the weapons because the round isn't heavy enough to take the hit of air.
Paint bb's suck on many levels. One, they break. This is not because of any 'burst of air', but quite simply because the firing mechanisms and magazines of airsoft guns are a lot more rough on the ammunition than hoppers. Second, they suck. They're inconsistent, light (never seen em any heavier than .12), and they've got casting nipples, which are horrid in barrels with .1mm of tolerance or less (bb's are 5.98 milimeters, Marui stock barrels are 5.08mm's, and tightbore barrels are 6.04-6.01mm's). Lastly, and most importantly, they're filled with liquid. This completely kills any hope for accuracy you can ever have.
