Two, three years ago it was a little different than it seems to be now. From my perspective, there are a few who call themselves the "big dogs", one being yourself. Rather back then, the "big dogs" never called themselvs that. Sure they knew it, but so did everyone else. ;)

I did my time leg humping for sure, and that DA time really helped me learn, but you seem to have forgotten your time on the ankle.  :aok
Anyway, not going to get into it with you, the thread was meant in a positive light and I will keep it on that course.  Ghost gave some good info on players who are excelling above average and a few others have as well.

Ghost, this has to be one of the most off base comments in the thread.

Keep it to who are the up and coming uberstiks, please.  I could give a rats patooty about how the old gaurd never acted this way or that way.  I don't care if the guy acts an arse or thinks he's god, or carries himself around like Mother Theresa, this is a game and many different characters reside here.  :aok

3 char minimum 8 char max alias.

Something about that one seems that AH got hacked.

Ding! ding! ding!   Morph hit the nail on the head.

<----passes Jeff a cigar.>

The older I get the more I respect players who have real class as opposed to mad skillz.  Just my personal point of view of course.

Guppy comes to mind right of the top of my head.  There are many more of course.  Now a days those are the guys I consider the "Big Dogs".

class?  This is not wimbelton, bro.  I enjoy all the different types of attitudes and mentalities.  I would probably not enjoy this game at all if everyone went around acting like herbert milktoast at a Captain n Tennille concert!  "Oh pardon me sir, , I am sorry for using up your cannon rounds with my fuselage, I hope my debris didn't damage your engine"

Bison virtually singlehandedly changed the way that I fly in the main.
His desire to work on wingman tactics, and teamwork. And his single minded devotion to seeing me make it home alive made a huge change for me.
As a result I flew 3 or 4 times as much last tour, and flew better. He's
still learning a few things but he's coming along very nicely. He still has some 6 months to go so keep an eye on this one.

Optiker is very very good in his F4u-1d, now he just needs to get OUT of the TA and into the main with it. A couple of tours could see him right up with the top sticks in the F4u.

Cowboy45 has the potential to be scary good. And he's super respectful also.
As a trainer I'm used to tossing "sir's" at people. Cowboy is constantly sending them back to me. No complaints, no whines, just fly hard and enjoy it seems to be his motto.

Olds695 is pushing the year mark, but he's made big progress this last tour.
His flying is good, he's been struggling with trying to improve his shooting.
But this is one to ride the river with guys.

Some others that I see regularly in the TA

Baumer  I don't know anyone who works as hard at AH as he does. Because of his squad he tends to stay in the LW birds. But keep your eyes on this one anyway. Ohhh and he's nice people too.

WWM  Could rule the roost in a few more tours. He's like trying to wrestle a greased snake, when you think you have him he slips out of your grasp and bites you in the behind.

Baumer.  In the two months he has been with JG11 the improvement I have seen from this fine gentleman is unbelievable.  One of the hardest working pilots I have met and and outstanding addition to the squad.  He is an excellant wingman who sticks with his lead, covers well, communicates thoroughly, and has genuine desire to succeed.  You will see alot from this pilot in the coming months.

Stalls, and this guy I met in the TA. Can't for the life of me remember the first part of his name, but it ends in Nexx or something similar. If I run into him again I'll edit my post.

Interesting thing about the guys on Ghosth's list --

They're all guys who spend a LOT of time in the TA, just playing tag and what not. I've never had the patience for that approach (adrenaline junky), but it would be no surprise to find them moving quickly...all that time pushing the envelope edge, practicing gunnery, high % time in "combat' situations (since no climbout or rtb), being able to pick the trainers' brains regularly, getting jumped by dissimular aircraft or higher E planes and learning the way out. Wish I didnt get antsy just flyuing around in there!

Great way to get better if you can adjsut to the slower, more relaxed pace.
Maturity is knowing that I've been an idiot in the past.
Wisdom is realizing I will be an idiot in the future.
Common sense is trying to not be an idiot right now

I guess you never watched Johnny Mac and his Wimbelton days.

The class that he is referring to is those who get shot down ... doesn't matter by who ... who can acknowledge the winner with a compliment as opposed to smack-crap.

I would probably not enjoy this game at all if everyone went around acting like herbert milktoast at a Captain n Tennille concert too ... but I also wouldn't enjoy the game if everyone went around acting like Don Rickles with a constant barage of insults and useless smack-talk ... which this game is getting to.

Back to the question at hand ...

Don't know if he is new or what but ran into nc33 last night ... good fighter and always game ... no matter the odds.
