Moving stick to rapidly
« on: October 10, 2007, 07:21:54 AM »
I've been getting an error, "Moving Controls too Rapidly", even on landing. I have also found that my controls for GVs switch from driving with the keyboard to driving with the stick with out me doing anything intentionally. Also, when I turn the gv with the stick to the left it goes right and then goes left. Even after I calibrate. I purchased a power hub but that didn't stop anything. Currently, I am using a fairly new Saitec x52. I've upgraded memory, Changed my speakers to 5.1 in the control panel and in the Creative labs contol box. I've reinstalled all the drivers for the sound card and Directx. Directx sound is at 3/4.

I've tried to do a search in the Tech. support board but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Can anyone help?

Any advice is appreciated.

Open the "Map Controllers" panel, and watch the axises feedback (numbers in parantheses) values while not touching the stick.

If the numbers are changing, then select that axis, check the "Advanced" option, then add a little more deadband.  A little goes a long way.  Might even need a bit of damping.

More details.

Thank you Skuzzy,

You pointed me in the right direction. Now I'm not a 100% sure of this, what I found in Mode 2 was that neither my keyboard nor my controller were mapped. Apparently the system or game must fight for control when there is no mapping. I thought I had mapped those long ago. I also experimented with dampening and deadband. Wow, you were right a little goes a long ways.

Apparently, at this point anyway, what ever I did worked.
