If we're wishing away I'd like to see (or hear) more elaborate deterioration noises.

That was the only thing I liked about Il2 (can't stand it otherwise)... If you take engine damage your engine fluctuates and, if I'm not mistaken, the power output wavers accordingly.

I agree 100% with your statement Xasthur. IL2 had an excellent sound engine in the game which was my #1 reason for liking it also. Other than the sound and realism of the game, it was otherwise a failure to hold my attention, unlike AHII which so far has held my attention indeffinately. Though I enjoyed just flying around in IL2, there really wasn't much else to it.

That depends on how you look at it. Aces High allows customized sounds for every action of every vehicle separately, though you can only work with the WAV file to make things sound realistic. IL-2 will only use stock sounds. The engine noise for IL-2 is the same sound put through a sound mixer a few times for each plane. IL-2 sound also seems much less directional.

I got a sound pack off the internet for db605 the 109s engine and it has various levels of engine sound rather than changing the pitch of one engine wav like aces high, it does it in stages uses a sound.cfg file which aces high does not use. Think its for il2 but dont know just know it doesnt work with aces high.
