Imagine if they let nut jobs run around on campus with guns...  Oh.. wait.. they only people on campus with guns are the nutjobs thanks to their policy.

as for liability... why don't they take pictures at every protest rally and...

Anyone who is carrying an angry sign or.. one that advocates violence.. why not then ban them from campus?

I mean... the email had no threats of violence yet... the school bans him while allowing people to stay who parade around with the most vile and aggressive signs in their hands... shouting violence!

The protesters seem very disturbed and angry to me and... historically... protesters are gunmen.. oswald for instance.

I wonder what the statistics are for gun related violence on campuses that allow firearms and those with gun bans.  I'm all for the right for someone to have a gun but I just don't feel confortable allowing fire arms on a college campus.  College kids + booze + fire arms = bad mix IMO.

Pffft, this isn't really a gun rights issue. Read the 2nd email. Barely a paragraph is devoted to the ban of guns on campus, while the rest is devoted to how horrible the school is, and why he's such a genius for acing all his classes without opening his textbook.

Unless the school itself said they banned him for the gun argument, I think it's very easy to believe they booted him for being such a tard.

He is clearly guilty of disagreeing with liberal viewpoints.

IIRC, that is a captial offense; it's the one exception to the death penalty that the libs allow.

Considering that accoriding to the university president that there were recently serious “hate crimes” that were committed in the womens bathrooms; there may be people on the edge ready to snap. I cant say I blame them, I myself am tired of having to pay my own extremely overpriced tuition to make up for minorities not paying theirs. On top of that, I am sick of seeing them held to a different standard than the white students (Of course its a lower and more lenient standard).

This is where he went wrong. He mentioned firearms in the same email he made a comment on race. You cannot do that, once you mention firearms and race in the same year, you are labeled some kind of a wackjob. You cannot do that in this country (USA) you do not have that right. Mind your P's and Q's, sit down, shut up and color.

He didnt HAVE a firearm, he was suspended for saying he SHOULD be able to carry one if the state issued the permit.

Why don't you go look into the crime rate for CCW holders, you may learn something.

I am sure you won't bother though.

Having read both of the e-mails as posted in the article's links I have to say they are pretty darn tame compared to what we see here in the bbs daily. I shudder to think what they might have done had Laz been e-mailing on their campus.

I think it's more than a bit of a stretch to ban then "require" psychological evaluation based on those 2 e-mails. While they obviously did not pander to the university president's opinion, they were not threatening to the campus or population. It seems that diversity is embraced except when you divert from the university president's opinion. I would hate to think how this place would have been viewed during a more strenuous time like in the 60's and 70's. Think of it, students actually making speeches about differing opinions and political positions! The student population would suffer from mass bans I'm sure. I'd say the message here is be diverse, just don't think differently.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I haven't read the second email but he seems to be making some good points in the first.

Why are all the protesters with signs that advocate violence or intolerance not suspended?

ackack... the problem is that when you take guns from the campus... the only guns you can really take away are the ones of people who obey the law.

no nutter would care what the "punishment" was.. he is going there to die in a blaze of glory after shooting as many government disarmed sheep as he can.

I have no stats for schools that allow ccw holders but... the media is not telling us that fully one third of all school shootings have been stopped by some civilian with a gun.

of the millions of civilians carrying...none has been convicted of an unlawful shooting much less a shooting spree at the sheeple at schools..

What have we got to lose by at least letting teachers who want... carry concealed?

Emails sound like the frustration a sane person feels when confronted and fed up with the asinine mind of liberal authority.  No logic, just rampant stupidity.

I am still trying to figure out what he said that should not be said at a center for thought and learning.

I am still trying to figure out how he is more dangerous sounding than the hordes of screaming protesters with their signs covered in fake blood and cries for death of officials.

I think the liberal agenda of our institutions of higher learning is quite clear.
