It has been reported that he did. I went from a 16k atari to a 64k commodore 64 which seemed extravagant. A few years later in '86 I bought an Atari 1040ST with a meg of ram, felt almost decadent.

I had a Apple IIc and was tired of loading everything everytime I wanted to play something.  Checked out the Apple catalog and I think I could get a 5mg External drive for $600.   Decided to buy a 386 at the BX. It had a 80mg hard drive.  I still remember talking to the sales guy and saying "wow 80megs? I'll never use that up"  I thought I had someting good because all the 286s at work only had 10 and 20meg hard drives.  Within a couple of months I was using Doublespace to get more storage.   1 meg of ram was $105

That's a heck of a lot of porn.  I bet even JB couldn't fill 4 terabytes.

Well,

to be honest... a TB of data is not that much anymore....we have already installed a few systems with a Petabyte of storage and we have many customers with more that a TB of data on line in real time...

The biggest problem with large drives is the access speed and overhead when running in raid configurations (depending of the type of data that is stored). performance will become (in some cases already is) a problem

Ok there JB, the gauntlet has been thrown. What are you going to do about it?

2-4 Terrabyte are nothing if you work for film or print media,
we installed two external 2 terrabyte drives on one graphics workstation
to help some dude store his increasing data.
And after 3 weeks, both Harddrives broke LOL
ok to be honest it was just consumer quality, and we had it
run 10h/6 days a week to see if this will work out.
The statement below is true.
