Need Help

Hello,

I got  a new laptop. Its Dell Inspiron 1501. Its got 2 gigs Ram, and a AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-56 Processor. The graphics card is an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150. Windows Vista.

Everytime i open Aceshigh there is a spinning page on the clip board. The color is offset as in shaded. (only does this in Aces High). When i log on and go to any of the Main areanas it automatically shuts off and goes to the windows no responsive programe screen.

Any help regarding these issues would be appreciated. i just want to get in the sky and start flyin!:aok

Install this patch from Microsoft.

Install this software from AMD.

Skuzzy, this topic is over a year old I know....but I am having the same problem.

I just had a new system built, AMD duo-core (2.6ghz), nvidia 9800gtx w/ 512m ram, 4gig system ram and windows vista premium sp1, do I still need both of those patches?

*edit* also, there are multiple downloads in your AMD link Skuzzy, it would be helpful to know exactly which one I need. :)

One of the links is for the AMD-Dual Core Patch. It's required because of multi-threading issues which causes the Aces High clipboard to spin. If it wasn't already installed and you have an AMD processor, yes, you will have to download and install it.

What is the name of the right one? I don't want to install the wrong thing and possibly screw stuff up heh.

Kinda strange that I even need a patch to play AH since I don't need one to play any other game. /shrug

I'd guess the second one, however please don't gamble on it. Wait for the professionals to confirm my guess.

For the AMD patch you want the "AMD Dual-Core Optimizer Version 1.1.4".  This should remove the spinning clipboard error.
