I currently have a X52..

ive been looking at the TM Cougar..

the only thing turning me off to it is the SIZE.. from what i can tell its MASSIVE..

what are the other offering available that are REALLY good?

CH appears to be the best off the shelf, don't have to send the stick and throttle out for super duper rebuild that will remind one of that 67 Mustang we once had in High School.

I had an old Thrustmast F22, was gonna go with Cougar - till I realized Guillimont (sp) had bought out TM and wasn't really interested in the high end stick market. CH is. Was enough for me.

I also read that the cougar uses different pots that are more precise BUT wear out more quickly, replacments are free, but regardless.. still a turn off

Your not gonna save any money in "the long run" buying anything but a full set of CH Products gear .

Only other flight stick than CH I would recommend would be a MS Joystick which they don't make anymore .

No point in thinking about the Cougar without adding a couple of very pricy mods to it to make it workable.

Long run, your better off with CH or a MS sidewinder prec 2 off Ebay.

Yup, CH does have a large, loyal following, for very good reasons. The full setup runs around $300, but that's a one time expense for a setup that is likely to be trouble free for years.

i use a CH fighterstick, CH pro pedals, and an X52 throttle. all works great for me. never a problem with any of em.

The only complaint I have with the SWFF2 is the rudder. The plastic around the microswitch keeps breaking. I have had 2 SWFF2's and the same problem with both. I've used plastic epoxy to repair them, but it was always a temporary fix.

Probably a sign I need to get pedals.
