Its a no secret, China's ambition are to become the next space superpower. Lets see how the Chinese do in space, i mean
they have the money, but whats with the technology ?
The first plan is unmanned missions to orbit and land on the Moon,
and later to build a Chinese space station.

Tomorrow Chang'e-1 (a lunar orbiting spacecraft) will start
from Xichang Satellite Launch Center.

Quite interesting to watch this if you ask me, no other nations
touched the Moon beside USA & CCCP

I see a red moon rising!  ;)
The statement below is true.
The statement above is false.

Well that's kinda apathetical-like. I remember the race to the moon being almost a panic with fear that the Russians would own the moon. We won the race but we didn't set up house. Now the Chinese are on their way. Ho hum? ;)

the russians never intended to land men on the moon , it was a red herring to distract US from it's space station plans and "race for the moon", and young JFK fell for it, he put americas space program 20 years behind where it should have been.

Wow. Where'd you get that from? Are you gonna try to spin that bit of creative logic to justify your apathy? :)

The X-20 was pushed as an alternate to the Gemini as a space station ferry vehicle in the twilight days of the program. If only it had been accepted, the US would have had a space station and winged ferry vehicle flying before the end of the 1960's.>>

every space scientist at the time knew the way to the moon was to build a spaceplane then a spacestation, build the moon lander at the station and go to the moon from the station and establish a base at the moon.

you do not go from the surface of the earth to the moon ,stay one day and come back. That is just for propaganda. To win the phony "race to the moon".

JFK/McNamara killed it and put the space program years behind.

An interesting what-if supposition. My 1963 encyclopedia set said nuclear powered aircraft would be commonplace in the seventies. Nixon probably screwed us outa that.

How, historically speaking, the Apollo program was one of the most stellar successes for NASA (and mankind). Setting such an amazing goal and achieving it in less than a decade is certainly a proud achievement. And not following it up isn't Kennedy's fault. The Kennedy spin is your hangup. ;)

LOL, years behind what, o master of knowledge?  The complete stall we've had for 30 odd years under republicans who deem space as not commercially worthy?   These republican dominated eras where we now still have a space shuttle that was deemed obsolete in 1985, that was envisioned to only be in use for a MAXIMUM of 10 years.... Whose replacement vehicles were killed repeatedly in republican dominated administrations.... and you put JFK under a microscope and basically call him a moron for one of the greatest triumphs in the history of humankind, one that basically united a country in unbelievable turmoil and strife??
You unbelievable hypocrite.
