There was a show on the History channel I think it was. Was pretty much nothing but the fastest guys out there, was an older guy on it whom could shoot menthol's out of the air with a .22 rifle.

Incredible clips, all of them.  Wonder how fast they can do a single-shot shotgun?

Catch a SASS meet sometime. There are some guys there who literally throw shells into the open action of a shot gun like an 1897. Also some of them use a side by side and they can do it as well.

I'd bet the guy you're looking for is an older guy with a mustache, he shoots a Benelli. I can't think of his name, but he looks a little like Jerry Miculek, but doesn't have the Cajun accent. He is on a couple of the shooting shows on the outdoor channels fairly often.

I really think all the trick shooter presentations should include weapon and ammo details.  It's my impression that the guns often are customized (e.g., lighter trigger pull) and the ammo often special loads (e.g., bullet mods such as wax or power alterations such as low recoil).

I guess what I'm saying is fancy shooting is much more impressive if it's with standard guns and ammo off the shelf with no modifications.

Perhaps the fancy shooting should be in categories, e.g., modified guns and/or ammo and stock guns and ammo.  And maybe it is -- I don't follow fancy shooting much, although I'm always impressed no matter what the fine tuning.

munden makes a DVD where he details all the guns and ammo.   For some stuff he uses wax bullets and guns so tuned as to be useless for anything else.. for other stuff he uses plain old factory full house ammo

In one...he takes a 4" smith 44 mag and shoots balloons tethered to targets.. on shot.. one blasted balloon.. the first balloon is at 100 yards..  easy enough...the last is at 600 yards... that is....600 yards.. one shot...

he shoots coins thrown in the air with stock 45 autos and revolvers...  clays with handguns... etc.   he explains it all.
