Stupid Congress again...
« on: October 31, 2007, 06:57:56 PM »
I mean come on, daylight savings one week later = a lot less fun for the little squeakies running around trick or treating.  It was light here until about 30 minutes ago, meaning 1 1/2 of 2 hours candy grabbing fun was in the daylight.

Does one week extra really save that much energy?  Kids didn't seem too happy about it.

DST is so nineteenth century.

Or .... maybe it's a bizarre sci-fi mental abberation thing, on their part. I think some in Con-gress actually think they have the power to manipulate time via legislation. I think some also think they can prevent rampant uncontrolled liberty the same way.

Must have been a congressional field day to a Star Wars film marathon recently.

I'm sure it costs alot somewhere else, when every new and old hardware is designed to work with the stantard DST. But for saving energy.. I guess all the energy will be wasted nearly the same as before, just at different time UTC wise.

Congress was just doing what Bush asked them to (as usual).
That's why they are stupid.

Just going on 7pm here, kids are just now starting to show up.  Not a single crumb cruncher was anywhere out there until now.

It's dark.

Not sure I get the point?  Heck, we got home, had dinner, enjoyed the family time, cleaned up the kitchen and the girls are getting in their outfits.

Gonna head out in about 10 min.

Did I miss something?  Was there something I was supposed to be upset about and missed a memo?  I think the bulk of the people around my neighborhood didn't get it either.

Probably the Governments fault again, stupid mail system and all.

Not sure how it's done where you are Roc, but here they keep trick or treating strictly from 6-8pm.  I just felt kinda bad for the 'lil guys out there.  I know I wouldn't have had as much fun when I was a kid if we had to trick or treat mostly in light.

Just got done with the first round.  Wife took the daughter over to inlaws house to grab some treats from the old folks.

Stang, are you in a HOA or is that like a local/city ordinance?

Well, the downside for people in the north is that the kids are going to school in the dark an extra week. When I was in school it was dark at almost 7:30 in the morning before we would get an earlier hour of light in october

And every few years I would lose an hour on my b'day(first sunday)
